almost here.

Got my dreaded Calc test back today. I'm not gonna talk about my grade, but I did enjoy taking this picture.

Went to my locker, was greeted by this lovely little post-it note.
IMG_1692

What could it possibly mean? Only one thing. Honey, baby. After going on a mini adventure to find a means to open the damned bear-shaped bottle, I spent the rest of my day taking swigs from the thing. Oh, what fun.

Teeheehee and Sabrina got MO!

Now it can clean her eraser shavings...

We on ASB are a multicultural bunch. Exhibit A:

ho ho ho.

Got kicked out of Shea's room...left us out in the cold and rain. So what did we do? Invade the dance room!
IMG_1727

Then some other stuff happened, and Mr. Shea kept pressing us to take a picture together after school. Lovely :]

I'm growing increasingly fond of my 50mm f/1.4. I guess since Alex is shooting with my zoom lens, it's sorta forcing me to use a prime like on my slr. Well, the images are tack-sharp, contrast is excellent, and chromatic aberration is almost nonexistent. Yes, I love my 50mm oh so very much.

It's been a while.

So my poor dslr's shutter button died on me, which is why I haven't put up any pictures. Thankfully, the guys over at Samy's Camera hooked me up with a loaner 30D. So what did I do? Take more pictures, of course.

So my awesome secret santa (who is still a secret, surprisingly) left my a great surprise on my desk in the morning. Cookies and milk! As I type, I am eating the remains of my day 2 secret santa gift.
yum!

Went out for pho after school. I was too busy eating, so from here on out photo credit goes to Dani.
photastic

Yeah, we're fatties.
Noodles

Headed over to DQ afterward, indulged in some sugary icy creamy goodness.
Soft Serve

Fudge Brownie Goodness

Yeah, it's nice to have a camera. I felt a bit naked without one.

I like handing my camera to people and seeing what they turn out. So to all them cool kids who like to take my camera...by all means, have fun with it. Just don't drop it, please. Only I'm allowed to be that stupid.

sugary musings

sitting here with a pile of fun size chocolate bars next to me (ya know, the ones that you get on Halloween), I have established my own order of evolution in the candy world.

First, there was the Hershey.
Then, some guy fluffed up some chocolate and created the Three Musketeers bar.
Later, another dude came along and added some caramel-y goodness, thus giving birth to the Milky Way.
Finally, to create a more substantial candy, a genius added peanuts (or almonds, I guess) and the Snicker entered the world. All was good.

Somewhere, far away, a lone genius developed the Twix, layering cookie with caramel and covering it with chocolate. I would like to meet this man and give him a high-five.

(btw, this all makes no sense.)

period.

What's up with people ending things with periods? Words, one-liners, sentences, you name it. Heck, most of the blogs that people my age make have a title that ends in a period (mine included o_O). Is it a strict adherence to grammar rules - a backlash against the terrible grammar that the internet has forced upon us? Maybe it's the finality of it all. Hello. Period. End of story. Don't add anything after, or else you'll lose the dramatic effect of the last statement you just made. Period.

Or are they just plain cool?

Oh well. Period.

The most wonderful time of the year

It's starting to feel like Christmas more and more. The Christmas songs, cheesy decorations, oversaturation of holiday cheer...yes. It's definitely Christmas.

Now, the jolly old fat guy in the red suit was taking pictures with people at the Festival of Trees. He was quite nice and all, but he came off as a bit creepy every once in a while. Or maybe it's just me, being all cynical and whatnot. Either way, he was fun to talk to. Turned out ol' St. Nick enjoyed nature photography.
Smile :]

I've had a fascination with pictures of people taking pictures of late. Observe.

I personally believe that the tree looks better out of focus...
Tree Bokeh

These creepy statuettes were following me wherever I went in the festival...I swear.
creepy things

Anyways...despite my cynicism and weariness with overactive consumerism during this time of year, I still enjoy turning the radio to KOST 103.5 and singing along to the Christmas songs. And I look forward to all of the eggnog, gift giving, and holiday mushiness. Yay! :D

artsy? not quite

No food pictures or anything of that sort today. Rather, I'm proud to show the first picture that I'm excited about in a verryyyyyy long time. It's not often that I'm happy with my shots. Makes it all the better when I pull something out of my ass that I'm confident in showing to others.

The Pensive Man

Yeah, it's fun to try and be artsy fartsy every once in a while. Ya know?

formerly known as Thanksgiving.

I enjoy calling today Turkey Day, not because I want to distance myself from the original meaning of the day, but because I like names with animals in them. Simple as that.

Well the Tuesday before school got out was filled with food, as any good day should be. One item in particular was the kick ass giant cookie pizza that Mrs. Hirayama brought to ASB :]]

Moving on...tried to entertain myself before Thanksgiving, but everything's FREAKING CLOSED. So Scott, Jason, and I headed down to Redondo. I just love the skies after a rainy day. Billowy, moody clouds everywhere. A cloud-lover's heaven.
