Feeding Time + COllEGe?!

Yeaaahhhh Pre-Thanksgiving feast! It turned out surprisingly well...anyways. The little ones took my camera and went crazy with it, so I sorta have a lack of pictures that I'd put up. Lotsa blurry ones, though.

We all spent a day together to get this little thing together. Oh, and I didn't bother getting everything in this shot because I was too impatient and wanted to eat :D
IMG_9393

Anways, now I'm gonna Faulkner this thing and start from the beginning. Yeah, you Lit AP people know what I'm talking about. Sayo's room gets abnormally hot when 234871968 people are in there. Freaking burning.
IMG_9180

There's not much to say, really...we stayed at Sayo's...cooked...went to buy ingredients...what else..? Not sure, so here are some random pictures instead.

Sabrina eats phones.
IMG_9242

Aww cute couple. And Emily's making a normal face!
IMG_9324

Tree with the youngins making pie...mmm...pie...
IMG_9326

And Kia and Minami. Just because.
IMG_9333

Oh! But we did go to McDonald's, and Sabrina introduced me a wonderful invention. Double Cheeseburger + McChicken. I call it...Heartstopper.
IMG_9258

and the day after we had the Senior uber-picture! Too lazy to write captions...

Let's bake some jazz.

Went on one of those adventures with Nikki again. As always, we found a way to amuse ourselves for a good nine hours or so. Success.

Went to go check out the Vanity Fair portrait exhibit at LACMA, but first Nikki had to grab one of these:
L1030678
It tastes like Thanksgiving in a cup. Now, we wondered if you would get the same effect by throwing a pumpkin pie and some ice cream in a blender..? o_O

The exhibit at LACMA was inspiring, to say the least. My mind is spinning with project ideas to play around with. Sadly, no pictures from the actual thing. They said no pictures, and I decided to honor that.

But the child tickets from LACMA are definitely unique...notice what they put under "Monday" instead of just "Child"
L1030710
Yeah...next gen. That's right. I guess they believe children are the next gen, too. Now there's a scary thought.

Anyways, perused an amazing photographic display of fashion photography then headed out to the random lamps. That "sculpture" or whatever is begging to be photographed.
L1030699
L1030700L1030696
Very...interesting, to say the least. I mean it's cool and all, but is it art? What the hell is art nowadays, anyways? Whatever.

Oh...then there was this random I-beam with gave you wi-fi! Strangely, none of the other I-beams had this. So, do you only get wi-fi at that particular beam? Or not.
L1030702

And a good ol' LA sunset.
L1030704a

so...in the park in back of the museums, there's a random ampitheatre.
L1030708
I've never seen it used...the stage is adjacent to a walkway so it's not like it's secluded or anything. It's as if they want you to sit down and watch the passerby, staring at them uncomfortably or something along those lines. hmm...might be fun to bring some random musicians and see if anyone sits down to watch.

We had a few hours before our show started, so we went back to MILK for some sweets. I am finishing said goodies as I write this thing right now.
L1030717
Nikki had a health-conscious tuna sandwich. Notice what my snack consisted of? Btw, the double chocolate cookie is like...a rock. It's that dense. It's deceptively heavy and quite gooey. Yum.

Applepan closes on Mondays, so we headed to gr/eats instead. I guess the maker of Giant Robot felt like opening a restaurant o_O. Oh, and it wasn't all that good. The curry tasted like the boxed stuff you get in supermarkets. Now, the honeydew at the end was a different story. Two toothpicks make all the difference.

The GPS died on us, so we scrambled to find directions. Ashley came to the rescue :]

So we managed to get to the Jazz Bakery. Influence was playing that night. They're a 19-piece big band-style group who just so happens to do a lot of musical work for shows like Family Guy, American Dad, Dancing with the Stars, etc. It was pretty cool hearing them break out of the typical T.V. songs and witness them express themselves purely as musicians.

Now, the Jazz Bakery's stage is TINY. I was surprised the entire band plus instruments could fit O_O
L1030744

The band also brought up some guest vocalists, like this guy whose name I've forgotten. Anyways, he's a high school student who belted out Sinatra like it was nobody's business. Very impressive.
L1030733

So yeah, an overall exciting day. The Vanity Fair thing alone would've made for a good day...going to the Jazz Bakery made it even better. I love how you can stay for the second show for free...makes the low price even more appealing.

Harvey can do headstands!

Harvey's a fatty.

Aren't you glad you met Harvey? Your life has now been enriched by his pizza-scented cuteness.

BOO!

Yay Halloween was today. Turned in early for whatever reason. I'm kinda not feeling like explaining the whole day. Just trust me when I say that it was tiring and awesome :D

So yeah, went as the March Hare along with the Mad Hatter and, of course, Alice!
Mmhmm. We're awesome.
IMG_0358

So yeah, here are some pictures of the particularly interesting costumes.

Three Monkeys

Juno and her Beau
Juno

The best group in my opinion, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves!
IMG_0348

Guess what he is. Seriously, just guess.
IMG_0346

Staredown with Mother Teresa. Get it?
IMG_0406

and these short little cool kids.
IMG_0400

Anyways...then school ended.
Every time we drove by these, Sabrina made us stop and admire them. That, we did.
IMG_0423

and then Sarah gave me this nifty little balloon at Marukai...
IMG_0424

And we munched on lovely little milk tea popsicles
IMG_0426

It's Halloween, and Tree's reading Kite Runner. What a good kid XP
IMG_0428

Sabby and Tree trying to cram for SATs. Ha. Funny.
IMG_0429

Alex enjoying a nice fall breeze...I think.
IMG_0436

AUDREY Hepburn! Get it? Ha!
IMG_0439

Trick or Treat! Second curtain flash is funnnnnn :D
IMG_0442

I got all excited whenever I saw a pumpkin carved like Jack Skellington. What a geek.
IMG_0445

Kissy kissy face!
IMG_0467

We're photophobic. That word has "pho" in it twice, therefore it must be an amazing word.
IMG_0484

So yeah, that's Halloween. I'm surprised that I'm already home. How strange...

a very merry unbirthday to you

and a very happy birfday to me. Thanks to everyone for making my birthday so amazingly kickass. I felt so warm and fuzzy and loved that it was getting kinda disgusting. But totally in a good way. I must say, my friends are like...the awesomest people. Ever. What a great way to celebrate my Senior Year birthday :D

Sooo my bday started off like any good Korean kid's birthday should. With miyuk gook.
IMG_0184

and I'm sitting in zero period Calc, and what do I see? Austin walking in holding some balloons, rapping for me at 7 in the morning and ending it with a class-wide "happy birthday" song. Nice.
IMG_0246

Get through a timed writing and gov test, open my locker to grab my bio stuff, and look! Another surprise!
IMG_0244

So what do I do? What any other self-respecting camera kid would do. Take pictures with it.
IMG_0194

and who gave me this nice surprise, might you ask? Now, who else knows that I'm obsessed with chocolate and honey? None other than the loveliest girl in the whole world.
IMG_0207

Pulled through a shitty Bio quiz, and Tree busts out four hard boiled eggs. Fun ensues. Yeaahh! Team Nose Goes!
IMG_0201IMG_0203
IMG_0202IMG_0198
Our alter eg(g)os...Audrey's joke. I swear.
IMG_0199

Then my favorite time of the day...ASB!!!
I walk in to this:
IMG_0227

Then Kelly busts out some of her amazing cupcakes with some orgasmic frosting...
IMG_0228

and Saaya pops in with a delectable treat :]
IMG_0242

Mrs. Hildreth brings in some awesome chili (totally unrelated to my bday, but still great)
IMG_0226
Jerek makes for a lovely hand model.

and mi madre delivers a MASSIVE chocolate cake. Here's the birthday platter all laid out...
IMG_0224
it takes all of ASB, Dance, and some random people to finish the cakes, but we pull it off somehow. amazing, eh?

fifth period rolls around, and Mikie suprises me with even more goodness. She already sent Austin in to serenade me, and left funny little notes and stuff in EVERY ONE OF MY CLASSES,and she tops it off with a GIANT COOKIE. I could be having the worst birthday in the world, and I'd still know that I have Mikie's giant cookie to look forward to. Much love.
IMG_0248
I like ruining pictures with oh-so-attractive faces XP

The eating just never stops. After school, this one awesome kid takes me out for a nice treat:
IMG_0252
pho!

I'll throw in a picture of him just for good measure.
IMG_0253
XP

For dinner, the madre took me out to Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen for some lovely southern comfort.

Ignore the awkward shadow. I left my lens hood on.
Sweet potato bisque...tasted like fall. By fall, I mean pumpkin pie, cinnamon, etc.
IMG_0264

A sampler of Catfish sliders, coconut shrimp, spring roll, and calamari. yum
IMG_0265

Pork Tenderloin...
IMG_0266

My mini birthday treat...
IMG_0268

and some fresh beignets.
IMG_0269

all the while, I listened to some dude on a very interesting piano...
IMG_0256

My my...a day filled with awesome friends, bomb food, and great music. An ideal birthday in every way. The only way it could've been better would be to have a hippo crawl into my room, or something of that interest level.

Thanks loves, I had a funderful day.
